Pascal Mantovani was literally born under a lucky mirror ball, and grew up to the beat of disco music in an eclectic environment flooded with light and sound. He was only 12 when he started working in his father’s nightclub, first as a cloakroom attendant, then a busboy, a server and a lighting technician. At 16, his dream comes true when he takes control of the mixing console and the dancing floor.
An inventive, self-educated man, Pascal is driven by passion with one goal in mind: to create a new sound that is truly unheard of, mixing beats and styles with seamless fluidity while building in energy.
In collaboration with Christian Pronovost, Pascal organizes live events that become real happenings with internationally acclaimed guests such as Anne Clark, Divine, Nitzer Ebb, Bas Noir, Jomanda, Royal House, Michael McLarens and his dancers, Crystal Waters and Grace Jones.
Since the beginning of 2000, Pascal’s creative talent transcends borders. In 2004, he produces Newtown’s deep house music compilation (Isla Del Sol), which is distributed in Canada and Japan, with leading names such as Stéphane Pompougnac, Claude Challe & Adam Plack, First Choice and Havana Funk. In 2005 and 2006, he creates the playlists of the online program House Music Pure & Simple, which is broadcasted worldwide on Paris One DJ Webradio, a French online radio network.
In Quebec, Pascal’s selective taste adds sophistication and subtle energy to the fashion shows of Canadian designers Philippe Dubuc and Renata Morales. His distinctive mixing style, infused with unbridled sensuality, now enhances the modern, cozy atmosphere of Café Méliès, a Montreal restaurant, lounge and bar for which he created new musical compilations in 2008.
